The Challenge
A large international law firm partnered with Deadline Monkey to support the rollout of a new client onboarding tool. The platform was designed to improve how new clients are introduced to legal workflows, data requirements, and communication processes. While the tool itself was functional and robust, the challenge lay in explaining its purpose and value clearly to clients who may have limited understanding of legal operations. Because of confidentiality agreements, the firm could not publicly disclose their name or internal systems. However, they required a clear and professional explainer video that could communicate how the onboarding process works, reduce friction at the beginning of legal engagements, and create transparency from the first interaction.


Our Goals
The goal was not simply to produce an explainer video, but to create a communication tool that genuinely supports the law firm’s business operations. The video needed to help clients understand what is expected from them, why certain information is required, and how the onboarding tool improves efficiency and clarity. From a broader perspective, the explainer video was meant to reduce repetitive explanations by legal teams, align internal processes, and create a consistent onboarding experience across regions and departments.

The Creative Approach
Every explainer video we produce starts long before animation begins. For this project, we began with a business analytics phase to understand how the law firm operates, how clients interact with the onboarding process, and where friction points appear. This step allowed us to fully understand not only the tool itself, but the business logic behind it. Based on these insights, we developed the script from scratch. The copy was shaped to reflect real workflows, real client questions, and real business needs. This process often helps clients see their own operations more clearly, as the act of scripting forces complex processes into simple, logical steps. Only after the script was reviewed and approved did we move into visual development. The explainer video uses clean 3D animation and controlled motion design to support understanding, not decoration. The visual language is calm, structured, and professional, reflecting the tone expected from a global law firm.

This project was built on close collaboration with legal, operational, and business stakeholders. The business analytics and scripting phases were as important as the animation itself. The project was produced as a fully animated 3D explainer video, with all stages handled within a single, streamlined production pipeline. Visual design, animation, and sound design were carefully aligned with the approved script to ensure consistency and clarity. The final explainer video was optimized for use across internal platforms, client presentations, and onboarding materials, making it a long-term communication asset rather than a one-off piece.
